Must See Episodes

Personality

Kitty Pryde is a young, sweet, upbeat, cheerful and optimistic teenage girl, but she did have some naive tendencies, mainly due to having lived a sheltered life before joining the X-Men. Caring and sympathetic, she is considered virtuous in almost all respects. With the typical attitude of a valley girl, Kitty can come off as a bit of a ditz, but she has since grown into a very intelligent, open-minded, and worldly young woman. Kitty isn't the most athletic person and her culinary skills are a constant source of dismay among the others. Regardless, she is a loyal friend and teammate, as Kitty's in it to fight the good fight and will need no convincing to rush off into battle as she's always willing to help others in need.

Physical appearance

  • Kitty's Outfits

Kitty is an American girl with a petite and slender figure. She has long brown hair usually pulled up into a ponytail with layers that frame her face and light blue eyes. Kitty usually wears a pink long sleeved sweater over a creamy-colored undershirt, light blue capris with an orange stripe on each pant leg, and brown sandals. She accessorizes by wearing a necklace and carries a small brown backpack.

Her second outfit includes a turquoise top with three-fourth length sleeves that shows off her midrift, light brown cargo khaki pants with a brown belt, and brown shoes. She accessorizes with a gold cylinder-shaped pendant.

Her third outfit includes a red button-up collared shirt that shows a bit of midrift, black trousers, and dark red sandals.

In her X-Men uniform, Kitty's is somewhat similar to Jean Grey's. She wears a gold-collared, dark navy blue bodysuit with a light purple V-shaped stripe in the front. A gold utility belt marking the "X" logo goes around her waist. Light-purple combat boots are worn for shoes, and thick, gold gloves worn on both hands.

Early Life

During her early teens, Kitty began having terrible headaches, which culminated one night during a dream where she felt like she was falling, only to awake having fallen straight through her bed and bedroom floor into the basement. The next day, her parents had told her not to go to school, while they attempted to help her through this. She snuck out anyway, only to meet another mutant, Lance Alvers, who had the ability to cause earthquakes in a limited area. After a minor incident with him, she was recruited by Jean Grey and Professor Xavier to join the X-Men.

Powers

Kitty's power allows her to phase through solid matter by shifting or separating the atoms of her body through intra-atomic spaces. She can phase through organic and inorganic matter with no damage to herself or others. When Kitty phases through an electrical system, her ability disrupts its system and shorts it out. Kitty can spread her ability to any person or object she touches, having phased a car, full of passengers, through a moving train, the X-Jet through a mountain and a train through another oncoming train. Though the latter was too strenuous for her and her power cut out midway, causing an explosion. Kitty is virtually weightless when in her phasing state and can influence her movement to phase downward into the ground and move through it to emerge upward from a different spot, simulating levitation.

Season 1

Since her introduction, she has fought alongside the X-Men against The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, led by Lance Alvers. During her stay at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, she has become close friends with Kurt Wagner, and has possibly even considered a closer relationship with him. She is also shows to be best friends with her roommate, Rogue. Kitty also has a romantic relationship with Lance Alvers, now calling himself Avalanche, against the advice of some of her friends. She proves her heart is clearly with Xavier's cause of human-mutant coexistence rather than the Brotherhood's philosophy of mutant superiority.

X Impulse-Parents

Kitty's scared of her newfound powers.

One night, in an average middle-class home, a young girl is in her bedroom sleeping and she starts to dream. In the dream, the girl is flying high through a city, seemingly enjoying herself when she suddenly starts to fall. When she's about to crash from the fall, she wakes up from the dream to find herself in the basement of her home. She quickly starts to breakdown as her parents come running down the stairs to her cries. Her father asks her if she was sleepwalking, the girl denies this and replies that she fell through the ceiling. Meanwhile, at the Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, the girl's mutant signature is picked up by Cerebro as it gives Charles Xavier her statistics. The girl

's name is revealed to be Kitty Pryde, age fifteen, who lives in Northbrook, Illinois.

X Impulse- Kitty eye roll n Mom

Kitty gets caught by her mother while trying to sneak out.

As Kitty's mother comforts her by reassuring that she was just having a nightmare, her father looks at the ceiling and replies that he's not that sure as he realizes how his daughter had managed her way into the house's basement as her sheets and pillow are half way phased through the ceiling. Upon seeing this, Kitty becomes further hysterical and confused as she starts questioning what she is and what's happening to her.

Meanwhile, despite the previous events from last night, Kitty still decides to go to school before being caught by her mother while trying to sneak out. Her mother questions her decision about leaving while bringing up what they decided earlier, Kitty expresses her irritation that neither her father or her wanted to talk about it before her father starts calling for her. Kitty begs her mother to let her leave as her father would make her stay home. As her mother grants her permission to leave the house, Kitty blows her a kiss in gratitude as she's leaving while her mother looks on, concerned.

X Impulse-KittyinLocker

Kitty being shoved into her locker by Riley and Sydeny.

After arriving at school, Kitty goes to her locker to put her books away while getting ready for her P.E. class before being shoved and locked in her own locker by two girls named Riley and Sydeny. Kitty pounds on the door and yells from them to let her out but the two girls laugh

at her as they run away to their next class. Soon afterwards, a teenage guy comes out of the men's restroom as he looks around to make sure that the hallways are empty. He then starts to spray paint graffiti over all the lockers in the hallway. Inside the locker, Kitty hears something outside and begs to be let out before phasing through and simultaneously

slamming into Lance Alvers as he's passing by. Lance is enthusiastic about Kitty's powers and chooses to introduce himself to her as he tells her that he understands because she is just like him. Kitty is skeptical before he proves this by showing her his powers as he concentrates, causing a small earthquake in the near vicinity. After this demonstration, she concludes that he was some sort of freak before running off, leaving Lance with the proclamation that he would meet her again.

Arriving late outside for her gym class, Kitty fails the long jump course via tripping, much to the enjoyment of Riley and Sydeny. When Riley takes her turn, Lance causes a tremor and hits Riley with a load of sand during her long jump. Kitty realizes Lance's involvement after he waves at her from the school's rooftop before running off towards the school and bumping into Jean Grey on the way.

X Impulse-Kitty

Kitty getting angry at Jean for talking to her.

Retreating to the school's auditorium, Kitty is frustrated and starts kicking around the set props on stage. She knocks over a bowl and as she tries to catch it, the bowl phases through her hands. Kitty begins to experiment with her powers before being walked in on by Jean. Kitty was surprised to see the X-Man when she came after her, who she expected to be a friend of Riley. Kitty tells Jean that she had nothing to due with the incident that happened in the sand pit earlier. Jean assured that she was not as Kitty relates that Jean looked like she would be Riley's friend as Kitty tried to hide from her by placing the mask she practiced with in front of her face. Jean tries to talk with Kitty by telling her that she knows what's happening but Kitty angrily tells her that she does not know anything and neither does that "creepy guy", Lance. Though Jean tried to comfort her by telling Kitty to forget about Lance and that this was about her and her new gift, Kitty didn't believe Jean initially, thinking that she has a curse instead. Jean says that she wants to help Kitty through this before Kitty bluntly cuts her off by saying that she does not want any of this and that it was hard enough just trying to be normal. Jean tries again by showing Kitty her powers as she levitated the mask in Kitty's hands. Jean further relates to Kitty by revealing that when she first gained her powers, she hated them as well. But, Kitty still does not believe Jean as she says that is must be a trick. Jean comes back with the fact that she knows that Kitty believes her as Jean also reveals that she could read minds, much to Kitty's discomfort as this causes her to scream at Jean to get out of her head and running away from her.

X Impulse- Kitty n Lance talk

Lance connecting with Kitty.

Leaving the auditorium, Kitty changed clothes and retreated to her locker getting her books for her next period before being confronted by Lance. Initially trying to fight him, Lance properly introduces himself and reveals to her that he won't use his powers as he merely wants to talk to her. At first Kitty's still wary of him, but after Lance explains to her how lonely and sick he felt after he first got his powers, that he knows what she's going through before inviting her to see him after school by the office in an hour so he can show her how to control her powers.

Later, Lance is outside the school's office waiting for Kitty. Once she arrives, she questions how does he take control. Lance tells her that they would need to admit to something that no one wants to - that they are outsiders and that there may actually be something wrong with them. As Kitty begins to become very depressed, Lance tells her that she should not fret but to embrace the fact. As the way he sees it is that fate dealt them winning cards, if they play them together. Kitty's still confused as nothing is making any sense to her but Lance reassures her.

X Impulse- Lancitty

She succeeds in phasing through the school's office and she's excited about her powers for the first time as Lance congratulates her on the powers and display of control she had used. Outside, Jean Grey and Xavier met up with Kitty's parents telling them that Kitty has broken into the office as her parents tell them that she has never done something like this before. Jean departs with Kitty's parents to go find her.

As Lance finishes downloading the test results and about to change their school grades, Kitty gets upset as she realizes that Lance was using her and her powers for his own personal gain. Lance starts to get a bit more forceful with Kitty as she struggling to get away from him when Jean Grey and Kitty's parents arrive. Originally, Kitty's father tries to stop Lance but the said mutant uses his powers to topple a bookcase on top of him. Lance, afraid of what might happen if they're caught, creates a hole in the wall via his powers as they try to talk Kitty out of going with Lance.

X-Impulse-Phasing

Kitty phases herself through the rubble.

Things eventually escalate to the point where Lance decides to bring the whole school down to stop Kitty's parents and Jean from following them. While Lance began to take her away, Jean reminded Kitty of when she said that she did not want her powers to be a curse and guaranteed that they would be once she was with him. Lance tells them that it's too late, she's with him now as he grips her arm and starts to drag Kitty along with him through his escape route. Kitty finally realizes that Lance was wrong and dangerous after he tries to keep her from her family. After she phases her arm out of Lance's grip, Kitty runs back to her parents. Lance becomes quite furious, creating a large tremor that accidently

causes the ceiling to fall in around and on top of her, then quickly leaves. Jean manages to use her telekinesis to keep the ceiling debris from collapsing around her and Kitty's parents with Xavier's help. As Kitty's parents are still grieving over the apparent loss of their daughter, Kitty phases through the rubble. After using her powers to save her family, Jean and herself, Xavier tells her that she used her gift well. Kitty hugs and apologizes to her parents as she tells her father that the X-Men want to help her and that she trusts them. Her father agrees as they all decide to talk with Professor Xavier about Kitty entering his school.

Rogue Recruit-KK

Kitty getting freaked out by Kurt.

Since joining the X-Men, Kitty had difficulty fitting in with the others as she was inexperienced, especially when compared to the rest of the team. At the Xavier Institute, the X-Men are watching Storm and Wolverine in the Danger Room as they test out the mansion's security systems, which everyone's very impressed by both their skills. If not a little horrified by Wolverine's suggestion to use poisonous gas next time. Kitty then questions if anyone besides her is freaked out by the X-Men's standard protocol, promptly being starred at by her fellow members of the group and concluding that it was just her. Kurt however, tells her that she would be fine and teleports around her, much to her annoyance as he

reassures Kitty that she's among friends. Upon telling Kitty that he will alert her of his next transportation, she leaves the group by phasing through the floor and stating that she's going to drop out. As Xavier comes and tells Scott to assemble the full team, Xavier explains that Cerebro had detected a new mutant, of whom is Rogue and he believes to be a danger to herself and others. He tells the group that they are dealing with a rogue.

Rogues Recruit- kurt w kitty

Kurt apologizing for frightening Kitty.

While the X-Men are aboard the Blackbird, Shadowcat relates her positive impressions of Cyclops to Jean, even calling him cute. While Jean dismisses this as she relates to Kitty that he's stiff, Jean does begin to admit that he may be before being cut off as the scene changes to a jealous Nightcrawler, who overhears their conversation and teleports to the front of the Blackbird, in an attempt to impress Shadowcat. However, he loses his footing and begins to fall, teleporting into the Blackbird and falling on Shadowcat. After scolding from Xavier, whom reminded him that he had frightened her, Nightcrawler apologizes. Howe

Finding Rogue, Wolverine comes with Shadowcat and Nightcrawler, causing her to continue running. Nightcrawler convinces Wolverine to let him talk to Rogue since she seems so terrified of Wolverine. He agrees and tells Nightcrawler to put on his image inducer and to watch Shadowcat, much to her irritation. Nightcrawler gets there before her and seems to be succeeding in winning Rogue over. However, still bitter over Wolverine's comment, Shadowcat lunges at Rogue and pins her down before being pushed off.

Rogue Recruit- Nightcrawler and Shadowcat

While in the midst of their struggle, Nightcrawler is accidently touched by Rogue and rendered unconscious. Rogue teleports as Shadowcat frantically begs for him to come back to his senses, crying out his name in desperation. Shadowcat concludes that she can contact Xavier with her mind and does just that, being told by Xavier to calm down and lower her volume. After Shadowcat relates to Xavier that Nightcrawler is injured and Charles relates the same information to the X-Men, Wolverine blames himself and states that he should have gone with them as he proceeds to go find them. While looming over her fallen comrade, Shadowcat began to express that she was warming up to his physical appearance and clang desperately to hope that he would survive.

Later, Shadowcat, Xavier, Wolverine who's carrying a still unconscious Nightcrawler rejoins with the rest of the X-Men as Wolverine sniffs and smells Mystique, stating that she can change her appearance, but not her scent. After Shadowcat tells them that they have to go after her, Xavier tells her that they have had enough damage and Rogue must come of her own free will or not at all, also noting that they must tend to their wounded. Nightcrawler awakes from his comatose state, prompting Shadowcat to happily hug him and exclaim that he's alright, indicating she has begun to like him. As she clangs to his arm, Shadowcat reassures Nightcrawler that everything is going to be fine after he asks what happened as she continues to hug him.

Kurt ports in to say "Reset. Don't..." before he disappears again. The X-Men argue over what he meant. Evan still wants to destroy it, but Scott says Kurt meant for them to reset not destroy it. Scott resets it and the portal opens. Kurt and Forge cannot teleport through because they need a bigger power source. Kurt teleports him and Forge to Principal Darkholme's car.

Jason invites her to come try out as they need girls who can sing and dance. He then leaves to put up more posters. When he leaves Rogue tells her she's pathetic. Kitty tells her that at least she's got a shot at being in the play. Rogue then catches Spyke taping them and threatens him if he tapes her again they're going to calling him 'Spyke-less. Kitty and Rogue decide to try out for the play and walk off in a huff.

Sabertooth rips open the front gates of the school. The rest of the X-Men come running. Wolverine tries to keep them out of it but Storm tells him it's no place for his personal wars. Through a combined effort, they send Sabertooth packing on his way again.

Evan runs into Kitty and Rogue arguing about rehearsing for the play. He asks them to help with the Sabretooth problem. As they leave the school on a moped/scooter Sabertooth follows them.

Rogue comes to and calls him away from Kitty.

She tries to touch him, but he's holding her arms out and she can't reach him. Wolverine arrives and Sabertooth drops Rogue as he's tackled by Logan. Rogue pops him from behind and lays him out. When Sergeant Hawke leaves the kids grumble about being there. Rogue says she's going AWOL and asks if anyone knows how to hot-wire a school bus. Scott stops them and Jean says it's either this or survival training with Wolverine. They all grab their bags and move off grumbling.

Lance and Scott race over an obstacle course. Lance uses his power to dunk Scott in the river. Spyke starts to go after Lance, but Jean stops him and says that they've agreed not to use powers. She says Scott can deal with Lance like a leader. Scott uses an optic blast to knock Lance out of his raft. He then takes Lance's raft and wins the race. Jean says "or not".

Survival Fittest - fight it out

We will take you!

Everyone argues over who should have won fairly. Hawk blows the whistle and makes them all do push-ups. He tells them that if they want to prove how tough they are, they have to get a flag from the top of Mt. Humiliation. Quicksilver says he can get the flag while his team takes a break, Nightcrawler says "not before I can". Hawk tells them that the whole team has to reach the top and retrieve the flag together.

The X-kids are running full tilt, and complaining about Scott, how all he cares about is winning the race.

Scott sends Kurt up to make sure that the flag is still up top. Then he gets Evan to spyke a rope up to the top so they can win. Evan asks if he's sure he wants to do it that way and Scott says yes. Scott starts up the rope, but when he looks back, the other X-Men are staring at him disapprovingly. Jean starts climbing up the mountain by hand.

Survival Fittest - pic group

YAYE!

The X-Kids are almost to the flag when the tremors start. Spyke is knocked off of the wall, but Jean saves him with her TK. When Scott tries to get her to levitate them all to the top she refuses. He says that she just used it for Spyke and asks her what's the difference. Jean gets mad and tells him that a real X-Man would know the difference. Rogue finds the Brotherhood at the bottom of a shaft. Toad begs them not to leave them behind over a stupid race. Scott tells them they won't.

On the mountain, the X-Kids save the Brotherhood. As they're pulling out the last one, Avalanche, the Blob points towards the flag and Quicksilver takes off. Nightcrawler ports up and they reach the flag at the same time and begin wrestling over it. The X-Jet pulls up suddenly and Storm tells them over the loud speaker that Xavier and Mystique are in trouble. Scott asks Lance if he's ready and he replies "Let's go!". The X-Jet flies by Sgt. Hawk and the flag and a pic of all of the X-Men and Brotherhood at the top of the mountain drops to the ground beside him.

Nightcrawler ports in while he's stunned and unlatches one of the four latches holding on his helmet. Juggernaut throws Nightcrawler and then charges the Blob and knocks him back across the Danger Room.

Cyclops blasts him, but Juggernaut picks up a piece of the Dangerroom wreckage and throws it at him. Avalanche uses his tremors and is able to make him stumble. Quicksilver is able to get to him long enough to open another latch. Juggernaut throws Quicksilver off, but Storm steps up and disorients him with wind gusts. He stumbles back and falls. Kit and Rogue phase out of the wall and are able to get the last two latches. Toad uses his tongue to grab Juggernaut's helmet and yank it free. Oh, God! I'm sorry!

Kitty wakes up to her alarm and phases her hand through it to turn it off, presumibly just broken it. She stumbles into the bathroom, phasing through the door, not realizing it reads 'occupied' and rushes right back out again. Rogue opens the door and shakes her brush at Kitty telling her the sign said occupied and the door was locked. Kitty mumbles something about anyone being able to read at this time in the morning and Rogue closes the door on her. Back in her room, Kitty is on her bed writing an E-mail to her parents. Mostly she complains about how crowded the mansion is, and how she can never find anywhere where she can be alone. Rogue walks in and begins to blow dry her hair. Kitty grumps and leaves the room. In the hallway she's literally run over by the other X-Men.

Grim Reminder - kitty writting

Dear Mom & Dad

She settles into the kitchen where Logan is reading the newspaper. She writes about how he's a loner and never wants to talk to anyone. When she looks up from her laptop at him, Wolverine asks if he's been reading too loudly for her. She's says that she was just enjoying the quiet. Then the other X-Men burst into the room making tons of noise.

Grim Reminder - everyone eats

Crap!

Everyone's going about their business to get breakfast while Scott turns on the news to drink his coffee too, Logan see the report and turns up the valume all the way, it's about a possible "bigfoot" sighting, given all the damage on "Mt. McKenna" in Canada. Wolverine leaves upset and Kitty writes about how he doesn't act like they're family, that he's always doing "this lone wolf thing". Kitty passes by in the hallway and hears Logan destroying his room. When he staggers out of his room she asks if everything is okay. He says something about redecorating and pushes past her.

Downstairs, Kitty finds Evan "spyking" a poster to the ceiling. Kitty argues with him over it being everyone's space and he tells her to deal with it. He leaves and she hops onto the sofa to continue writing. She writes about his immaturity, then the poster comes loose and falls onto her head. Next she climbs into a tree outside by the garage. Scott is nearby working on his car. Kitty writes about Scott and how sometimes he tries to be so responsible and others he's a total teenager. Scott revs his car and takes off with his stereo blaring, almost causing Kitty to nearly fall from the tree. She notices Logan and Charles Xavier in a courtyard nearby and writes about Xavier keeping everything together at the Institute.

Grim Reminder - kurt n kitty on plane

Later Kitty is hiding in the Blackbird trying to finish her letter before School. She writes to her parents about Kurt and how he's always popping in on her and startling her. Kurt tells her to stop being dramatic and heads up to the pilot's seat. When he puts his hand on Logan's shoulder, Logan pops his claws and swipes towards his head. Kurt stammers and ports back to Kitty. Wolverine follows him back and asks why they're following him, he keeps grabbing his head and groaning. He closes the door and locks himself in the cockpit. Kurt states, the've been locked in, and kitty tells him, No, Logan locked himself in, to keep them safe. Kitty asks Kurt if he can port them to the ground but he says they're going way to fast and to high up. Kitty says they're stuck on the flight.

Everything starts shorting out and there are some explosions as Kitty phases back out of the panels. Wolverine regains control and

The kids port out outside and in the distance, Kurt and Kitty re-appear. They watch as the whole top of the mountain explodes. Later as they're waiting, Logan staggers up to them looking very run into the ground.

She tells them all that no one discards her, and she's planning on paying Magneto a visit. She tells them that they can go together, or she can go alone. Wolverine walks in and says she won't be alone. Mystique tells him that she knows Magneto and she's calling the shots. Wolverine tells her she can get her own ride. She agrees to go along. They take off in the new jet "XM-Velocity".

XM-Velocity flies across the surface of the moon. Wolverine tells them that there's no metal in the plane.

Kitty phases the kids out after Scott & Alex crash a jet to the ground. Mystique climbs out of the top and heads straight for Magneto. Asteroid M begins to fall and Alex and Scott use their powers to blast it apart as it crashes towards them. They both collapse to the ground back to normal.

The X-Jet lands and Scott apologizes to everyone for the way he's been acting. Alex says so much for Havok, but at least I have my brother back. Xavier tells Alex that they'll help him with his powers if he wants and that they'll do it together, unified, as the X-Men.

Season 2

Between the defeat of Magneto and the expansion of the X-Men with the introduction of the New Mutants, Kitty has not changed much and continued to be a vital member of the X-Men. She continued to dodge the passes of affection that Lance Alvers used to try and attract Kitty to him with.

Growing Pains - 9 car

Kitty with Kurt and Scott driving.

Kitty was with the other X-Men as they watched and cheered on Jean during her soccer game. After the game, she rode home with Scott and Kurt. While Scott was driving down a busy city street, Kurt and Kitty were discussing about the band called "The Stone Cyphers". Suddenly, Scott is forced into the other lane by a driver going way too fast, with a lot of police cars chasing him. Kurt asks what was his hurry. Kitty says snidely it's probably the twelve police cars on his tail. The wild driver runs a red light, and narrowly misses getting t-boned by a school bus loaded with kids. The driver turns onto a bridge which backtracks right over the bus, and the police set up a road block in order to stop the driver, who swerves out of the way, and dangles from the bridge, right over the school bus.

Hey Kitty!

Scott, Kurt, and Kitty begin arguing over whether or not to step in and help, afraid of revealing themselves. Finally, they see the car beginning to go over the edge. Scott gives the go-ahead, causing Kurt to teleport into the car, and teleport the driver out. Scott fires a small optic blast, knocking the car away from the bus, thus saving the kids. Kurt rematerializes next to the bus and pushes the confused driver forward out into the open scene, as Kurt teleports back to Scott and Kitty. When the police arrest the driver, Kitty uses her powers to phase the three X-Men into an abandoned building, not wanting to be spotted, just avoiding a news crew running to the scene. At the Institute, Scott drives up in his car, with Kurt and Kitty still in tow. The three are discussing whether or not to tell anyone what happened, Kitty suggests by keeping quiet about it. But as they look towards the front doors and see Xavier, Ororo, and Logan waiting for them. She then says that they could blame it all on Kurt.

The next day at school, everyone is gathered in the gym for an assembly. Kitty is talking to some of her friends when Lance notices her looking his way and he heads over to sit behind her. When Lance tries to talk to her, Kitty brushes him off by saying that shouldn't he be erupting somewhere. As the new principal, Edward Kelly walks toward the podium, Lance uses his powers to shake the place up and make Kelly stumble. Kitty, knowing that the tremor was Lance, glares at him. He waves and smiles goofly at her, Kitty softly giggles thus making Lance very happy. He, trying to get her attention again, asks if she wants to see some real shaking, then starts a tremor that shakes loose the scoreboard over Kelly's head. The scoreboard just misses Kelly and the staff, Kitty gets angry at Lance and tells him to get a clue.

Kitty. Don't be mad.

After the assembly, as Scott waits by his car, he hears Kitty and Lance arguing down by Lance's jeep. Lance tells her that he's sorry about the scoreboard situation and asks her not to be mad, but she tells him that he can be a real jerk sometimes. She starts to walk away but Lance grabs her arm to stop her. Scott shows up and tells him to leave her alone as Kitty phases her arm out of Lance's grip. Lance says that it was between him and Kitty not Scott. When Lance tries to goad Scott into fighting with his powers, Kitty stops him saying that Lance knows they can't use their powers in public. Scott walks away and tells her to come along. She hesitates for a second, but as the rest of the Brotherhood laugh, she huffs and walks away.

Look out, Kitty!

At the prep game rally, Kitty was sitting with the other X-Men. When the game begins, the Brotherhood show up and interrupt the game as Avalanche and the others announce that they're mutants, that have special powers. Kitty is shocked by this huge annoucement and that she can't believe that Lance would actually call them out. TV cameras catch all the action as he also announces that the Xavier Institute is also filled with mutants and names Scott and Jean personally. The Brotherhood starts wrecking the stadium and harassing Kelly. The X-Kids take off to change into uniform as Xavier calls to Storm, telepathically, that they need her. The X-Kids hit the field with Cyclops blasting the hawk out of Blob's hands and it flies into the gym causing a small explosion. Both Spyke and Shadowcat destroy the TV cameras and tapes, as Jean saves Kelly from Quicksilver. Blob starts destroying the stadium seats that still have people on them. But he is then sapped by Rogue and the whole construction falls on both of them. Shadowcat goes to help Rogue get out of the wreck while also helping the other victims. She doesn't see that the hawk statue above her is about to fall. Avalanche is fighting with Cyclops, but he interrupts his battle as he realizes that the statue is about to fall on Shadowcat. He runs and pushes Shadowcat out of the way as the school's mascot comes crashing down on top of him. Shadowcat screams in horror at what had happened and she phases him out from under the statue. When Storm comes and creates a rainstorm that causes everyone to stop fighting and calm down, Shadowcat stays with an unconscious Avalanche until he wakes up again.

WildSide-HereweGO...

Saving the day, Ladies!

Kitty banded together with Rogue, Boom-Boom, Magma, and Jean Grey to form the crime-fighting Bayville Sirens, the ultimate expression of "girl-power." The five dressed in what could only be described as punk-gothic, and used their abilities to bring down a chop-shop/car theft ring. Immediately afterwards, the group disbanded under threat of arrest for vigilantism (a threat actually made by Mystique in disguise), but the incident has shown that mutants can use their powers for the good of humanity.

The X-Men are now living underground beneath the ruins of the mansion. Kitty is sneaking a midnight snack when Kurt ports in and catches her drinking straight from the milk carton. As they argue over it, Kitty sees intruders on the monitors. They port upstairs to take care of them before the alarms wake everyone up. Kitty gets to them first and she's startled by their monster like appearance. Kitty and Kurt take them out and it turns out that it's just Mal Robson, Keith Kcid and some other high school jock, all in masks. They were been spray painting graffiti everywhere. They run off saying nobody wants the mutants around. Kitty tells Kurt it was a lot easier when only the Brotherhood hated them.

Xavier mentally wakes up the rest of the X-kids and calls the older kids into a meeting. All of the students are now crowded into a few rooms in the sub floors. At the meeting Xavier tells them that they're going to be allowed back to school for one day as long as they do not use their powers. That night the school board is holding a meeting to vote on whether or not to ban mutants from the schools permanently.

Scott tells him that it's only a matter of time before everyone realizes who he really is since he lives at the Institute. He turns to leave, but some other kids are there and ask him if he isn't friends with the mutants. He tells them that he "used to be" and tries to get away, but Kitty and Rogue are right there behind him and heard the whole thing. Kitty tells him thanks, but Kurt rambles on about having to be somewhere and runs off.

The Brotherhood and Duncan team up and start a fight with the other X-kids in the parking lot outside. Scott tells the others that they are not to use their powers, no matter what. Kitty tells Kurt to take off his hoolwatch, & he, slightly annoyed cautions her "One step at a time."

Next morning, Xavier calls everyone to another meeting. Logan asked if they are on their way to a funeral as everyone walks by with sadden faces. He tells them that the board voted to allow them back into school. The kids aren't too happy about going back, but Xavier tells them that it's not only an honor for them to be taking the first step in this "new world", but it's also their responsibility for the mutants yet too come. He tells them how proud he is of them, and that no matter what, the X-Men will endure.

Everyone is heading off to school and as Kitty rushes to catch up to them she phases through the Beast and loses her toothbrush inside. She says sorry as she reaches back into his chest to remove it while running to catch up with the others saying not to leave without her.

Later, after Rogue confronts Gambit, Kitty shows up and asks Rogue if he was one of Magneto's new guys. Rogue confirms this and that she's suspicious about him by saying that he's up to something. Kitty wants to go tell Scott about Gambit, but Rogue tells her that there's no time and drags her off while Kitty worries about missing sixth period.

Rogue and Kitty make it to the Brotherhood house just as the boys take off into Lance's jeep. Kitty makes a snide comment about Lance by saying he can't stay out of trouble for one day. They follow the Brotherhood boys by phasing in and out of various vehicles that are heading the same direction.

Rogue tries to stop them with Avalanche's power, but Kitty tells her it's no use that they're all gone while calling Pietro a jerk and that she'll get him next time. The girls are caught by the military officers, but the leader tells them that not everyone hates mutants and that he knows they helped and they're free to go, suprising them both. He would have offered them a ride home but they were also stranded until another unit arrives to pick them up. Rogue declines their offer saying that her and Kitty will find their own way home. But Kitty sternly says that they were going to find a phone and call Scott.

Back at the Institute, Kitty and Rogue explain the situation by saying that everything happened so fast and it kinda blew up in their faces as they went along with it. Xavier tells the girls that they can't deal with every problem that comes along, that they have their own lives to lead. Scott tells them that they've also got detention on Saturday for skipping out on sixth period. Kitty storms off angrily away saying that she knew this was going to happen.

Season 4

  • Ascension II

During Apocalypse master plan, Kitty and her team (consisting of Sunspot, Scarlet Witch, Alex Summers and Angel) went to Mexico, to fight against Magneto, who had become Apocalypse Horsemen. With his magnetic powers, magneto rebuilt a Sentinel robot, and used it against the mutants. The team was barely able to hold their own against both the Sentinel and the dominated Master of Magnetism. That until the rest of The Brotherhood appeared. They hold their ground until Apocalypse was succesfully defeated.

The Future

Future-Group

Future Shadowcat

When Charles Xavier was under Apocalypse's control, he was able to scan the mind of Apocalypse. In the possible future, Xavier saw adult versions of the X-Men including Shadowcat. She's shown to be wearing a black X-Men uniform, with a black long-sleeved top that shows a couple inches of her mid-drift, matching black pants, and light purple combat boots. She also has gold platlets with the "X" logo on both of her shoulders, two gold arm gauntlets, a gold ulitity belt also bearing the "X" logo, and a gold utility pouch strapped to her right thigh. Also, Shadowcat has a noticeably short bob hairstyle, no longer sporting her ponytail as she did in her teen years. Kitty would've continued her romantic relationship with Avalanche and are believe to still be together in the future.

Relationships

Lance Alvers
Kitty first meet Lance when she accidentally fell onto him when she tried to get out of her locker because two mean girls pushed her into her locker. When he figured she had powers like him, he tried and (after she had a horrible day) convinced her to sneak into the office so he can steal test results, but when she figured out he was just using her she tried to leave, resulting in the two butting heads and Lance attempting to crush her (and her parents and Jean, who'd arrived to save Kitty) underneath the school, but was unsucessful.

Later, after the two fought several times, Lance tried to get her to date him following Magneto's disapearance. She rejected him at first, but began warming up to him after he saved her life from some debris (which he actually caused). Lance once tried to join the X-Men, mostly because he wanted to get close to her, but he found it difficult to keep up with the harder training regime of the X-Men and couldn't resist goofing off and antagonizing Scott by deliberately screwing up sessions, though Kitty seemed to find it amusing (and became annoyed at Scott when he retaliated). Ultimately he left after dealing with some of the younger student's antics due to becoming fatigued with the Institute's harder expectations and general insanity, but the two began dating.

However, later when he and the Brotherhood attack a mall with Wanda, the two find themselves on apposing sides, and when he helps Mystique infiltrate the X-Men and blows up the mansion, nearly killing Scott and the New Recruits, she dumps him offscreen, with the two no longer together by the time they return to school following mutants being outed to the world. They permenantly severe ties when he helps Duncan Mathews attack Scott and, with the others, stop the destruction he causes alongside the Brotherhood. The remained enemies for the rest of the series, but Lance demonstrated a softer side during the last season, and eventually came to her rescue when they took on Apocalypse, but its never made clear if they returned to their former closeness.

Kurt Wagner
When Kitty first meet Kurt she was a little scared at first and creeped out by the way he kept teleporting around her and how he looked in his blue form but when he was knocked out by Rogue she was very worried and when he came to she hugged him and said that everything will be ok and eventually she warmed up to him. He once teleported while sleeping around the city on a day he and Kitty were sick and supposed to be in bed. When he woke up, Kitty hit him repeatedly with a pillow.

Jean Grey
Since the first time she met Jean, she started to grow close to her, and look up to her as the sister she never had.

Rogue
Rogue and Kitty have an odd but close friendship. At first, Rogue didn't like Kitty much as her bubbly and perky personality annoyed her. Rooming with Kitty has proven difficult at times too, but they have learned to live with each other despite their differences. They are seen sometimes hanging out together at school.
