Premise[]

After being kidnapped by Omega Red, Logan manages to escape to a nearby forest. There, he finds his female clone, X-23, on a personal mission to destroy the person responsible for creating her: Madame Hydra. Now, the two team up to take on Hydra so they can destroy the HYDRA base. Meanwhile, Scott and Jean try to teach the New Mutants on much more advanced ways of using their mutant abilities.

Summary[]

At a café in Bayville, Ray, Bobby and Jamie sit at a table with Logan and express their complaints of having to attend a class taught by Jean and Scott. Not wanting to be stuck in a classroom all day, the three ask Logan if he could teach them instead but Logan instead insists if Jean and Scott want to teach the younger students something then the class is worth attending. Logan then gets up as he detects another scent in the area. As he follows it down an alleyway, tentacles break out of a wall and neutralise him with a small device.

Inside The institute, Jean and Scott walk to the room in which they are teaching as Scott worries that the students would prefer being in the outdoors and training but Jean expresses her belief that it it would be beneficial for the students to understand the science behind their powers. Jean opens the door as the two watch the students inside cause trouble. Not noticing his mentors, Sam ends up using his powers to lunge himself forward as he knocks Scott down, Jean looks down at him as Scott mimics Jean's earlier statement that the session would be easy.

Unbeknownst to him, Logan wakes up inside an aircraft but chained down by his arms and neck. After freeing himself, he then rushes over to a wall and slices a large hole in it only to discover that the aircraft is on route to somewhere. After being alerted to the noise, two HYDRA guards enter the cell and fire at the prisoner, one fire hits as it throws Logan out of the plane and down below.

As he falls, Logan attempts to soften his fall by slicing the branches from the trees but manages to slide the rest of the way down by putting his claws through the tree though he only continues to further fall as he rolls down a hill covered in snow. After landing in the small lake below, the aircraft above stops above the same location as Omega Red and Gauntlet descend below in an attempt to recover their target. On the ground, Omega fires two wires which wrap around a tree causing it to snap and break, knowing that Logan was close in the area, Gauntlet uses a device and determines that Logan is still near them, the two leave as Logan pulls himself from the waters and attempts to find somewhere else to hide so that his healing factor can kick in though his attempts prove futile as another blast causes him to move further down the cliffside and into a hollow log only for Omega to pull him out using the wires once more.

Omega then lifts Logan up calling him Weapon X though the latter shows no sign of knowing who his attacker is. Omega then states Logan will be the one left broken and suffering. As Omega goes to attack, X-23, who was watching from above, jumps down and easily takes down both enemies. After seeing Logan on the ground, she demands he get up. Elsewhere, Gauntlet stands up and radios in to HYDRA command to confirm that X-23 has found them. X-23 starts demanding answers only for Logan to reply that even he was unaware of what had happened. As the two continue to traverse through the woods, X-23 notes that Logan should have healed during their journey but Logan mentions how he had fallen from the plane. He then tries to get answers but X-23 claims that him being there is only slowing her down from the mission she is on. Logan admits he attempted to search for her after X-23 left the Institute but the latter only tells him that she left in an effort to protect both him and the other X-Men from HYDRA as she further admits that S.H.I.E.L.D had also been targeting her. The two hear a noise due to their enhanced hearing as X-23 realises they are being following much to Logan's confusing as the latter pulls a tracking device from his boot and tells him to leave. Gauntlet watches as the dot on his tracker vanishes as he tells his partner that their targets have realised the situation, Omega says that their task is not a game but Gauntlet retaliates by stating that it is fun for him.

During Jean and Scott's lesson, the two attempt to calm their class down only for the students to continue causing trouble as. Scott then begins placing handouts onto the desks but watches as Amara "accidentally" burns hers, Scott then places another one down as Jean raises her voice trying to make them understand that even the basic of subjects would help them with their powers. As Jean looks over, she notices how quiet Bobby is and praises him for taking it seriously though the class laugh as Jean realises that it is not Bobby but instead an ice sculpture replica. Annoyed, she orders the class to go find the real one.

As Omega and Gauntlet continue to track down Logan and X-23, Omega launches another wire forward which grabs a wolverine but Omega throws the animal aside as Gauntlet stands at the edge of the cliff looking onwards as he pinpoints the location of his targets. Down in the forest, Logan tries telling his clone that they are both being lead into a trap but X-23 does not believe him and insists that she will only be free once S.H.I.E.L.D and HYDRA believe she met her demise. As the two venture forward, Logan continues to be adamant that they are walking into a trap as the two find themselves in a cavern where X-23 apologises for not believing Logan's instincts. As Omega and Gauntlet fire at them, Logan hears the guns being cocked and jumps forward to avoid him or X-23 being hit. Knowing the two are surrounded, Gauntlet silently commands his HYDRA troops to surround the area as the former steps forward. Wanting to escape, X-23 attempts to fight off her attacker much to Logan's horror but both are knocked unconscious by Gauntlet's device.

On board another aircraft, the two are then taken to HYDRA's main headquarters where Omega stands guard over Logan as the latter is strapped down to a chair. Logan then watches as an elevator descends to the floor and Viper, also known as Madame Hydra, steps out and calls Logan by his Weapon X title, annoyed, Logan asks where X-23 is but Viper comments that X-23 is back with HYDRA and tells her prisoner that X-23 spent most of her time getting revenge by locating and destroying HYDRA's other bases, a situation which Logan finds amusing. Tired of her rebellious behaviour, Viper admits that she plans on wiping X-23's mind so that she can be the perfect weapon HYDRA initially designed her to be. As she leaves the room, Omega asks what should be done with Logan but Viper allows Omega to do whatever he wants.

Inside the room where the scientists plan to wipe X-23's mind, one scientists voices his complain that the devices were not to be used on her. Omega then continues to bring up the Weapon X program as he states he would get his vengeance on those involved such as Logan, Sabretooth, Maverick and Wade Wilson. Tired of listening to him, Logan tells his captor to fight him already, Omega fires another wire that tears the metallic chair from its binds and throws it into a control panel that releases Logan. The latter then gets the upper hand as he knocks Omega down and runs out into the hallway to find X-23 before something happens to her. The scientist on the phone then discovers that a disk was never planted onto X-23 as the latter then wakes up.

As Logan runs through the corridor, he takes note that some of the surveillance cameras were taken down and watches as a guard is thrown into a wall courtesy of X-23 who then finally admits she planned on being captured all along, she goes to leave but Omega appears in an attempt to stop both of them. He then fires another wire but misses as X-23 tells Logan to leave as time is running out. X-23 then continues her journey alone as she leaves Logan to fend off Omega, he ends the fight after grabbing one of Omega's tentacles and placing it in a fuse box that electrocutes Omega. As Viper enters the surveillance room, she and the security guard watch as X-23 stalks down a hallway and destroys the camera, the guard then advises that Viper escapes. As the alarms go off, the computers informs those inside that explosives have been detected and tells everyone to evacuate. Upon hearing this, Logan goes to leave but watches as a small explosion goes off in front of him but manages to escape to outside where he watches as the aircraft, one that Viper is on, goes to leave, he jumps and manages to catch the latter to try and convince X-23 to stop what she is doing but the latter insists it has to be done.

On board, X-23 confronts her creator and says that Viper made her a monster as well as a weapon. In an effort to get away unscathed, Viper agrees to give X-23 what she wants but X-23 tells her that nothing can be done as Gauntlet walks over and declares the situation over, X-23 solemnly agrees but then throws more explosives on board as the aircraft crashes to the ground. On the ground, Logan watches from below but does not see any of the three emerge from the rubble.

At the base, S.H.I.E.L.D authorities apprehend Omega as Logan stands on a hill overseeing the crash site as Nick Fury walks over and questions where X-23 is. Not wanting S.H.I.E.L.D try and track her down any longer, Logan claims that she was killed in the crash, Fury believes him and leaves. As Logan goes to leave, he picks up a scent and realises X-23 survived but keeps quiet about it as X-23 watches from a safer hiding spot.

At the Institute, Bobby, states that he is already an X-Man and so are his other allies but Scott and Jean insist that they have more to learn as Jean explains that she and the other X-Men learned a lot of useful information from The Professor, Logan and Storm, Scott assures them that despite them being older, he and Jean have more experience as Jean uses her telekinesis to raise the class into the air as Scott fires an optic blast that safely passes through the students and hits a wall before slicing an apple in half as the class watch in awe, Jean then places them back into their seats and she and Scott start the class as Logan watches from the door.
